Mr. Allie Brian Downing, born on May 10, 1960, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away on May 19, 2024, in Pleasant Hope, Missouri, at the age of 64. He was the cherished son of the late Barney Downing and Dorothy Elizabeth (Davidson) Downing.
Allie dedicated his early professional life to working in a factory, where he crafted field and lawn equipment until 1998. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, he made many lasting friendships during his years of service.
On November 7, 1996, Allie married the love of his life, Paula, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Allie had a profound love for the outdoors, particularly coon hunting, a passion he pursued with great enthusiasm. He also enjoyed other types of hunting, fishing, and playing baseball with his grandchildren, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Allie’s playful spirit and sense of humor were infectious, earning him a reputation as a true jokester. He brought laughter and light to all who knew him, and his stories and jokes will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Dorothy Elizabeth Downing.
Allie is survived by his beloved wife, Paula; his children, Josh (Jennifer) Downing, Shannon (Courtney) Downing, Carrie Troha, Corey (Kelli) Carter, Cassey (Frank) Arriaga, and Carrie (John) Ramos; and his 17 treasured grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Barney (Darlene) Downing, his sister, Pat (Randy) Sanders, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate the wonderful life he lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Bolivar Cancer Center, reflecting Allie’s generous and giving spirit.
