All is Calm, the Christmas Truce of 1914
(Rolla)–After a well attended presentation last night, the Fine Linen Theatre will once again be presenting “All Is Calm, the Christmas Truce of 1914.”
Spokesman Kim Nisbett the production is based on a real event during the early days of World War One when British and German soldiers laid down their guns to play games, exchange gifts, and sing Christmas songs despite orders by their superiors not to do it.
Tonight’s performance at Cedar Street Playhouse in Rolla will be followed by two more shores tomorrow.
The play is based on actual letters from soldiers at the time describing the event.
