Aldermen work to align local, state and federal law

The Camdenton Board of Aldermen has begun discussion on the City Code related to Tobacco, Alternative Nicotine products or Vapor Products. City Clerk Renee Kingston tells us they have begun discussions because of the Federal Law that prohibits the sale of tobacco products to those who are 21 years old and up.
Currently, Camdenton has a code that lists the age at 18 years old, which has caused some confusion for consumers and retailers…
Kingston said the final decision on the code, may be determined by what takes place in the State Legislature.
