Airport Master Plan in Action

The newest Floyd W Jones Airport Master Plan is complete and has been approved by Lebanon City Council. The airport which is located on more than 50 acres has a strong economic impact on the area. Numbers indicated from a previous economic impact study by MODOT the total local impact is around $2.26-million-dollars. For aircraft to use the airport, it must be safe, and Schomacher said that is one of the priorities in the Airport Master Plan…

A large portion of the work identified in the Airport Master Plan will be paid for with funds from the Aviation Trust Fund. In the short-term, projects will have a total cost of $3.2-million with the local share being just under $328-thousand. While there is no immediate plan to extend the Floyd W. Jones Airport runway, Schomaker said it will remain in the long-range Master Plan in case funding becomes available.
