After 55 years and nearly 28-hundred issues, this Thursday’s printed edition of the Fort Wood Guidon is the publication’s last edition. Post officials say there are many reasons for the newspaper’s end and the pros and cons were debated back and forth before the decision was made. The main reasons, they say, involve where the majority of readers–the service members and their families–get their information. The Guidon will continue in electronic form, appearing online every Thursday. This electronic edition of the Guidon started as a substitute for the print edition when Covid-19 forced a temporary halt to printing operations last year.
