High school students in some rural Missouri school districts are getting help to plan for success after high school – and it’s paying off. State Education Commissioner Margie  Vandeven says Missouri allocated 10 million dollars to have college and career advisors help some rural students find their passion in life and figure out how to get there. The effort launched last year, and since then, the college enrollment rates among the participating schools have increased by 7.5-percent – and by as much as 14 percent at select sites…

 

The initiative, which is now in 135 rural districts, is a partnership between the state, an organization called root Ed Alliance and Ozarks Technical Community College.
