A six-year-old boy from Camdenton drowned in the Lake of the Ozarks

A six-year-old boy from Camdenton drowned in the Lake of the Ozarks at 6:10 in the evening on the Fourth of July. The highway patrol reports the boy was not wearing a life jacket and jumped into the water onto a lily pad, sunk below the surface of the water, and did not resurface. He was pronounced dead at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach about an hour later. The drowning took place at the 65.9-mile mark of the main channel at Lick Creek Cove
