A record number of new Covid cases has been reported in Pulaski County. For the week of January 9th through the 15th, there were 894 new Covid cases, bringing this month’s total up to 1495. This is the highest number of cases ever seen in a week in the county. Health officials at the Pulaski County Health Center are advising residents to please take necessary precautions to protect themselves and family members. They say it is important that people who are sick stay home. The Health Center still is offering all vaccines and boosters Mondays through Fridays from 9 am-12 pm & 1 pm-3 pm. At the moment, 69 percent of Pulaski County residents have received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine, 57.7 percent have received both doses. The Pulaski County Health Center in Crocker reported Wednesday afternoon that it had received a very limited supply of Binax Now tests for Covid. The center says it will be testing by appointment. You must have the signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and you must meet one of these criteria–unvaccinated and under the age of 5…65 years of age or older…a male weighing over 300 pounds…or a female weighing over 250 pounds. The Pulaski County Health Center says it is deeply sorry that it cannot test everyone who desires testing at this time.
