A man is facing several felony charges after an incident in Maries County

A man is facing several felony charges after an incident in Maries County on Saturday. 40-year-old, Ronnie D. Lawson, has been charged with the Class B Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, the Class D Felony of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, the Class D Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and the Class E Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Maries County Deputies were dispatched to the 18-thousand block of Highway 133 in Dixon on Saturday. A tow truck driver had notified authorities that he was attempting to repossess a vehicle and had been shot at by the homeowner (Lawson). The tow truck operator had left the scene after the shooting and went to the home of a relative. Authorities were able to locate Lawson at a business in Dixon, and he was taken into custody. During the investigation into the shooting, deputies recovered a 12-gauge shotgun and suspected methamphetamine. Lawson is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Lawson is being held in the Maries County Jail on a 50-thousand dollar bond. Lawson’s next court appearance is set for May 16th.
