An explosion in Douglas County killed 4 people over the weekend. Witnesses reported that they could hear the explosion at the home near Goodhope from 10 miles away. Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase said the home was undergoing renovations and a propane leak was found. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Missouri Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating. Initial reports are that the explosion flashed so intensely that it didn’t start a fire. Authorities say 59-year-old Salvador Haro, 51-year-old Silvia Haro, 27-year-old Salvador Haro Junior, and a 16-year-old died in the explosion.
