9-Year Old Dies in Wright County Accident

A 9-year old boy was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 4:10 Sunday afternoon in Wright County. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that the unidentified youth was in a car driven by 31-year old Gabriel F. Ruiz when the vehicle struck a dirt embankment, overturned, partially ejecting the child. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred on 13th Road, 1 mile west of Mountain Grove. Ruiz suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Ozark Healthcare in West Plains. Neither occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
