82 new covid cases added to the Laclede County count Monday

The COVID virus continues to spread unabated across Laclede County. The county has more active cases at this time than at any other time during the pandemic, and the majority of those are attributable to community spread. Missouri reported 2,562 cases on Monday and is now approaching 350-thousand cases since the pandemic began. 3 additional deaths were reported on Monday, for a total of 4,514. The good news is that the first shipments of the COVID vaccine arrived in Missouri on Monday, and vaccinations are underway. The vaccine is 95 percent effective in preventing a person from becoming infected.
