7th annual Ultra Sweaty Santa 6-hour endurance race this weekend

Healthy Futures Pulaski County will hold its 7th annual Ultra Sweaty Santa 6-hour endurance race this weekend. The Ultra Sweaty Santa will begin Saturday morning at 6 o’clock and end at noon in Devil’s Elbow. The race course will be on a shaded 6-mile crushed gravel loop, with a 3-mile loop being optional, that runs alongside the Big Piney River just off Old Route 66. There will be one fully stocked aid station and one with water only. So be sure to bring a portable hydration device. Plan to stay afterward and cool off in the water at a private beach behind the Elbow Inn. A prize will be given for the best costume and for the overall male and female finishers with the most miles run. For those opting for the longer loop, there will be a prize given to the Queen and King of “the hill”, aka the gargantuan hill at the turnaround – the person traversing it the most times gains considerable respect and a special surprise. Melissa Sharp of the Pulaski County Health Center and Healthy Futures Pulaski County says there’s no charge for running the race.
