This is the annual Thank A Farmer week in Missouri, which is promoted by the Missouri Farm Bureau. Pulaski County Farm Bureau President Larry Helm says that, despite higher prices at the grocery store, Americans still are paying a small percentage of their income on farm-produced food products.
He says farming has an 88.4 billion dollar economic impact to Missouri’s economy.
Statistics show us that one typical farm provides food and fiber for 172 people.
