Two Town Halls Will Be Held Off Post To Get Citizen Input On Pending Gate Changes At Fort Wood
The Waynesville-St. Robert-Fort Leonard Wood community is invited to participate in a town hall meeting to discuss the recent developments concerning the changes to hours at Fort Leonard Wood’s South and West Gates.
The meeting will take place January 29th at the Parker Educational Center in Waynesville. Waynesville Mayor Sean Wilson says the purpose of the meeting is to help increase communication and understanding in the community.
Residents are encouraged to attend this public meeting. It begins at 6:30 PM.
For residents living south of Fort Leonard Wood, a town hall meeting about shortened gate hours at the south gate to the installation will be held this Thursday evening at 6:30 at the Citizens Center in Roby.
Starting February 1st, the operating hours for the West Gate will be from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The South Gate will be open from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The East Gate already has limited hours of being an entry point to Fort Wood. Only the North Gate will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
