Overdose deaths rise
Missouri is among many states that continues to see an increase in the number of drug overdose deaths. The #1 leading cause of death among adults age 18-44 in Missouri, in 2020 and more than 70 percent of all drug overdose deaths in the state involve opioids. That’s why individuals who know someone who uses opioid drugs, are being encouraged to take advantage of a free service being offered in the lobby of the Lebanon Police Department. Lauren Mitchell with Lane Change encourages everyone to visit the vending machine.

In 2022, more than 2-thousand individuals died in Missouri because of a drug overdose, and in most cases the death could have been avoided, if Narcan had been readily available. The Narcan Vending Machine is free to everyone, and the lobby of the Lebanon Police Department is open 24/7.
