57-year-old Robert N. Parnell of St. Louis has been arraigned in Pulaski County Associate Circuit Court

57-year-old Robert N. Parnell of St. Louis has been arraigned in Pulaski County Associate Circuit Court in Waynesville on charges of driving while intoxicated and assault in the second degree. Court documents allege that on September 26th, Parnell was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and acted with criminal negligence by swerving into a semi-truck, which resulted in serious physical injury to the tractor-trailer driver. In doing so, court documents say, he committed assault in the second degree. Parnell entered not guilty pleas to both charges. Judge Colin Long ordered the defendant to personally appear for a counsel status hearing on October 3rd and a preliminary hearing on October 17th.
