Missouri’s public schools are diving into their report card from the state to help figure out where to make changes. The Annual Performance Report released this month shows more than 100 districts could be at risk of losing full accreditation, if progress is not made over the next few years. The state Education Department is using a new system it considers to be more rigorous. Christina Andrade (AWN-draw-day) Melly (rhymes with jelly), Missouri’s Teacher of the Year, says report cards measure growth more and the performance of each student.

Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher (plocker), a Republican, says he’s “disheartened” by the report cards.
