Support for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

Raising children can of course be difficult, but raising Grandchildren on your own can present a whole new set of challenges. Care Connection in Warsaw knows this, and is renewing its “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren” support group. That group will be led by Family Caregiver Coordinator Tammy Wilkey who, at the age of 48, is raising her three grandkids all under the age of 7. Wilkey says the first class takes place July the 7th from 1-2pm at the Warsaw Senior Center, and will be a good time for everyone to introduce themselves.

Some of those resources include Missouri’s ParentLink and Relatives as Parents Programs. Though it isn’t required, Wilkey encouraged grandparents attending the class to let her know beforehand via email or you can give her a call at 660-438-3300 extension 3
