Hosting a 4th of July cookout will cost you 67 dollars and 73 cents this year, according to the Missouri Farm Bureau. Janet Adkison is Public Affairs Director for the Bureau. She says 67-73 is slightly less than last year’s price tag, but still 14 percent higher than it was two years ago:
So what do you get for 67 dollars and 73 cents? Two pounds of hamburger meat, a pound of cheese, one package of hamburger buns, 2 pounds of chicken breasts, 3 pounds of pork chops, 2-and-a-half pounds of potato salad, a 32-ounce can of pork & beans, a 16-ounce bag of chips, one package of cookies, a half-gallon of ice cream, 2 pints of strawberries, and 2-and-a-half quarts of lemonade.
