(Crocker)–As we await the arrival of the New Year, it’s fairly certain that 2020 will begin with an upswing in flu cases across the state. The Pulaski County Health Department reports that there have been only 40 confirmed cases of the flu in Pulaski County. According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, Missouri has not yet been put on the list of states with high levels of flu activity. However, there is likely to be a decided upswing in flu cases in the state in January, February, and March. The Pulaski County Health Department is urging the elderly and people with chronic health conditions to get a flu shot if they haven’t already. It takes about two weeks for a flu shot to build up a level of immunity in the body.
