The Waynesville Middle School Football Camp, underway since monday is being altered……part of camp will be held indoors in the Middle School Gym today and tomorrow, due to projected extreme temperatures and heat index.
All campers will need to wear athletic shoes, (not cleats) on these days….

Due to the projected heat index and severity of the weather today and tomorrow, Waynesville High School is cancelling the 2021-2022 Elementary Soccer Camp…that camp was scheudled to start today at the anderson soccer field……it was for 1st thru 6th graders……was being the key word..
again, the elementary soccer camp has been cancelled….
The camp will not be rescheduled, and the camp fee will be refunded to parents who registered their children.

CROCKER R-2 SCHOOL DISTRICT AND CENTRAL OZARK MEDICAL CENTER ARE TEAMING UP TO HOST FREE PHYSICALS FOR ATHLETES THAT WILL BE IN THE 6TH THROUGH 12TH GRADES DURING THE 2021-22 SCHOOL YEAR.
WHO NEEDS PHYSICALS? IF YOU PLAN ON PARTICIPATING IN ATHLETICS AT CROCKER, ALL INCOMING 6TH GRADERS AND ANY 7TH THROUGH 12TH GRADERS WHOSE 2-YEAR PHYSICAL EXPIRED AT THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR BACK IN MAY… IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT THE CROCKER ATHLETIC OFFICE.
STUDENTS WHO WILL BE RECEIVING A PHYSICAL WILL NEED TO FILL OUT THE CONSENT FORM (NEW THIS YEAR) AS WELL AS THE COMPLETE PHYSICAL FORM, INCLUDING MEDICAL INSURANCE AND CONSENT TO DRUG TESTING FORMS.

Cardinals lefty starter Tyler Pike allowed just a single run over 6.0 innings, but Springfield’s bats were shut out by the Arkansas Travelers in a 4-0 loss on Tuesday night in front of exactly 4,000 fans at Hammons Field.

Pike struck out five batters without issuing a walk. The Travelers managed five hits off the lefty, with their only run coming via a second-inning groundout that would hold up for the game’s final 7.5 innings.

with money to burn, and let’s face it, a half a billion dollar contract is plenty of money, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is putting it to good use, and deepening his ties with Kansas City…… on Tuesday, Mahomes purchased ownership stake in the Major League Soccer club Sporting KC. This move comes just a year after the two-time MVP bought into the Kansas City Royals’ ownership group.

According to ESPN, Mahomes, who is just 25, and Sporting KC have discussed their potential partnership for about a year. Mahomes’ fiancée, Brittany Matthews, went a step ahead by becoming a co-owner of Kansas City’s National Women’s Soccer League franchise last year.

Team USA started off the Olympics on the wrong foot with an 83-76 loss to France on the basketball court, but fortunately, they managed to get back on track earlier today in japan where it was wednesday. Playing against an Iranian team that was technically ahead of them in the Group A standings due to point-differential, the Americans laid the smackdown in a dominant 120-66 victory. The win gets them back to .500, but more importantly, it re-establishes Team USA as the favorites in the Olympics as a whole.

Damian Lillard led the way 21 points, but virtually everybody contributed to the blowout. Team USA nailed 19 3-pointers in the win as their shooting and athleticism overwhelmed an Iran team that does not feature a current NBA player.
