(Plato)–Plato Superintendent of Schools Kim Hawk has announced that she will be the new chief operating officer for the Northwest School District in Cedar Hill. Hawk will replace Geoff Macy, who is leaving at the end of June for a job as the assistant superintendent of business and finance for the Ladue School District.

Hawk says she particularly likes what Northwest is doing with the “Leader in Me” program. The program stresses a holistic approach to education that teaches leadership to every student, creates a culture of student empowerment and aligns systems to drive academic results.
She says she is house searching right now in that area, but will maintain her home in this area.

Hawk has 27 years of experience in public education and has been superintendent at the Plato district for the past five years.
