IT WAS ABOUT AS UNEVENTFUL AS A FIRST HALF BETWEEN THE CHIEFS AND PATRIOTS HAS EVER BEEN..
YES, NEW ENGLAND WAS MISSING THEIR STARTING QB IN CAM NEWTON, AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE CHIEFS PLAY UP TO THEIR OPPONENTS LEVEL…THE BETTER THE OPPONENT, THE BETTER THEY PLAY….THAT WAS EVIDENT AGAINST BOTH THE CHARGERS, AND RAVENS….
NONE THE LESS…
The Kansas City Chiefs remain perfect on the season, moving to 4-0 to begin 2020 after defeating the New England Patriots (2-2), 26-10, at Arrowhead Stadium. The final score doesn’t exactly paint the picture of just how close this game was as it wasn’t exactly the sharpest night for the defending Super Bowl champions. Nevertheless, it was enough to get the W.
Patrick Mahomes struggled early, but came up clutch late, helping Kansas City on back-to-back touchdown drives in the final two quarters to really separate from New England. As for those Patriots, it was a rough night offensively as Brian Hoyer took over for Cam Newton, who was sidelined for this matchup after testing positive for COVID-19. He completed 15 of his 24 passes for just 130 yards, no touchdowns, a pick, and a fumble before being replaced by second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham.

The Atlanta Falcons experienced heartbreak in back-to-back games leading up to Monday night’s Week 4 showdown with the Green Bay Packers, but they may have experienced something even worse while falling victim to Aaron Rodgers in prime time: Confirmation that they are among the worst teams in the NFL through the first quarter of the 2020 campaign. Decimated by injuries as well as their own defensive ineptitude, the Falcons didn’t finish Monday’s showdown with star wideout Julio Jones, who left early after aggravating a hamstring issue, but they did finish it with a fourth straight loss — this one courtesy of Rodgers, who was nearly flawless in another MVP-caliber performance alongside a breakout game for tight end Robert Tonyan en route to a 30-16 rout.

The Houston Texans fired head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien on Monday, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora confirms. Romeo Crennel will be the interim head coach moving forward. Following their 31-23 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4, the Texans fell to 0-4 — dead last in the AFC South.

The New York Yankees continued their assault on American League pitching in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Monday night. The Yankees clobbered four home runs in their blowout win over the Tampa Bay Rays (NY 9, TB 3) and now have a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series. They’ve scored 31 runs in three postseason games. Game 2 is Tuesday night.

A home run derby broke out during a hot, dry day at Dodger Stadium, and suddenly the Houston Astros have their swing and swagger back.
Carlos Correa homered twice and drove in four, Jose Altuve hit a go-ahead, two-run single during Houston’s four-run sixth inning and the Astros rallied to beat the Oakland Athletics 10-5 in the opener of their AL Division Series on Monday.
