The Laclede County Health Department reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. That comes on the heels of 11 new reported cases on Sunday. 38 of the recent cases remain active, and that brings the total number of cases in the county to 238. Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, says two of the new cases had no known exposure to a positive case, and likely acquired the virus while out in the community……….

Baker discusses the locations where the public might have been exposed by the new cases on Monday……….

That church is Family of Faith Church in Competition on August 9th, both morning and evening services. The Mid-Missouri Stockyards exposure would have been on August 8th in the evening. The nail salon is P-J Nails on the morning of August 11th. The cases that visited those locations were all showing symptoms of infection while at these locations. Baker says it’s unfortunate to see the recent increase in cases……….

The state is reporting 1,148 new cases for Monday for a total of 68,623 cases. 29 people died from the virus over the last 24 hours, bringing that total to 1,396. Laclede County has had an 11-percent increase in the number of cases over the last week. That mirrors the state, which is at an 11-point-2 percent increase. Over 850 people remain hospitalized across the state.
