23 year old charged in vehicle death of Osage Beach Police Officer

A Camdenton man who has been charged in connection with the death of an Osage Beach police officer was in court today in Camden County.  23-year-old Christopher Aaron Bishop Wehmeyer is with the Class A felony of aggravated fleeing a stop or detention of a motor vehicle, causing a death. These charges are for events related to the death of Osage Beach Police Officer Phylicia Carson. Officer Carson died in the line of duty on August 31, 2024.  According to the Camden County Prosecutors Office, the charges are based on the new “Valentine’s Law” that went into effect on August 28.  The range of punishment for a class A felony is not less than ten years, and not to exceed thirty years, or life imprisonment.  Today, September 3rd, Wehmeyer appeared in court and heard the charges against him.  He will be back in court on Friday for a bond hearing.  He is currently being held without bond.
