The 2020 Pulaski County Tree of Lights Fundraiser, despite the many obstacles facing it during these Covid times, was a roaring success. With a goal of 90-thousand dollars, Honorary Chairperson Jim Mitchell announced late last week that a fundraising total of $130,330.93 was collected–a new record for the county. He said that at the first meeting to discuss this year’s campaign, there was a lot of concern and he knew volunteers would have to work harder last year due to Covid. During last week’s Salvation Army luncheon, Gary and Jeannie Porter announced they would be stepping down as Chairman and helpmate. Gary Porter has served on the Salvation Army board for 40 years and served as Chairman for 12 of those years. Jeannie King was elected by e-mail to succeed Porter as a Chairman of the Salvation Army Board.
