(Waynesville)–The 2020 Census is underway, but taking a back seat to the coronavirus outbreak. Many citizens have been more concerned about the threat of the disease to pay attention to the need to respond to the call of the census. Waynesville Mayor Luge Hardman says a little time spent on filling out the census now will save more time later.

She says only about 50 percent of the residents of Waynesville has responded to the census so far. Census enumerators will visit your home to get the information if you do not respond now. The Constitution requires that every resident of the country take part every ten years in the official census. There are penalties for not doing so.
