16 year old dies in 3 vehicle crash

A 16 year old girl died and two other people were seriously injured during a 3 vehicle crash in Phelps County on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Highway Patrol the vehicle driven by the 16 year old from Rolla crossed the center line of Highway 63, and sideswiped a car driven by 46 year old Jerry Prewett of St James. The girl’s car then hit a jeep driven by 27 year old Abigail Bowen of Rolla head on. The 16 year old died at the scene of the crash. While Bowen and her passenger 27 year old Leann Robertson of Rolla were seriously injured and transported to area hospitals for treatment.
