Maplecrest Elementary sleeping bag project ramps up again

Students and staff at Maplecrest Elementary in Lebanon have undertaken a project which will bring warmth to some of the less fortunate. Every other year, some students and staff have been bringing in new sleeping bags in a collection that is organized in part by School Counselor Lori Ranfeld….

The sleeping bags are also provided to warming centers and students in outlying school districts….

To date, the sleeping bag drive has collected about 180 sleeping bags, which are distributed to those who are identified as having a need. Ranfeld said that they appreciate the community support of the project.
