Man Charged for Possessing IED

A 37-year-old man from Springfield faces several felony charges after authorities accused him of possessing an Improvised explosive device.
Joseph Trotter, was charged with unlawful possession of an explosive weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful possession/transport/manufacture/repair or sale of an illegal weapon.
Authorities were at a residence at the 500 Block of Louise Street in Richland searching for drugs when they came across the IED.
They also found two juveniles inside, and they were evacuated. Trotter was booked with a $250,000 bond.
