A Macks Creek man is jailed in Camden County for the alleged assault of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. On April 24th, a trooper with the Highway Patrol responded to a crash in the 84-hundred block of D Road. At the scene, the trooper saw the driver, identified as Steven Haselton, had driven his vehicle off the road, and into the driveway of an off duty Camden County Deputy, and hit a camper and the Deputies patrol car.  A woman, who was briefly trapped inside the camper, was uninjured.  The off duty deputy reported that Haselton had previously made threats against him and his family.  When Haselton was taken into custody he was searched and found to be in possession of a controlled substance.   Haselton is charged with two counts of property damage,  assault, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held without bond.
