Heat is a Concern

Scientist all over the world have voiced their concerns of the weather. There’s too much rain, not enough rain, its hot and dry. The Office of Emergency Management is very concerned over the weather. Laclede OEM Director, Randy Rowe says, the weather has his attention:

Rowe says, his concern is also with the local agriculture and the tourist industries. Rowe says he is not and expert in weather science but he says, he as talked with those who are experts:

Rowe says, when it’s hot and dry not only does it have risk for agriculture and rivers and lakes but it’s also a serious health risk. He says, when it’s 95 plus degrees cooling centers will be open. Hughes Senior Center will be open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm, the Salvation Army building will be open during the day and on weekends until the temperature drops from 95 degrees and the Red Cross building will be open during the day.
