City Council Filings Open Next Week

Candidate filing for the City of Lebanon’s General Municipal Election scheduled for April 2, 2019, begins at 8 a.m. Dec. 11.



One two-year term will be open in wards 1, 2, 3 and 4. Each ward has two council members with staggering terms.



To qualify, candidates must be at least 21 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city for one year and a resident of the respective ward for six months preceding.



To file, visit the city clerk’s office at Lebanon City Hall, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays through Jan. 15. Filing fees are $3 per candidate. At the time of filing, a copy of a notarized affidavit declaring no delinquency of local and state taxes must be provided to the city clerk. The affidavit form can be found online at or may be picked up at the city clerk’s office prior to Dec. 11. It is the responsibility of the filer to submit the original affidavit to the Missouri Department of Revenue.
