Charges filed in Pulaski County Jail fire

(Waynesville)–Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Hillman has announced that he has filed charges of Arson in the first degree against three individuals who allegedly set fire to the Pulaski County jail recently while they were inmates.

The three charged were 42-year-old Michael Elmer of Waynesville, 28-year-old Steven Hilton of Farmington, and 28-year-old Dustin Maust of St. Robert.

The Missouri State Fire Marshall sent a probably cause statement to Prosecutor Hillman, alleging that these three set a small fire in the ceiling of a cell in the Pulaski County Jail on the night of July 3rd. Although damage was very limited, it did require the complete evacuation of the inmates of the jail.

All three individuals remain in jail on these charges in lieu of a 75-thousand dollar bond and other charges.
